The Cheech & Chong hemp range reviewed—a famous name attached to the two most legally exposed product categories in hemp, and one marketing claim we would tell anyone to ignore.

Cheech & Chong (cheechandchong.com) sells hemp products under the names of the comedians whose careers were built on cannabis culture: THCa prerolls, delta-9 THC gummies, vapes built around a novel cannabinoid called EPN, and an alcohol-free THC spirit. The operating company, Cheech & Chong's Cannabis Co., is a branding and retail business—it also licenses its name and store design to independent dispensaries—which means the famous names on the packet are a marketing asset rather than a statement about what is inside it. It ships within the US only, excluding Utah on the items we checked, and is age-restricted. We priced the catalogue on July 29, 2026. This review contains affiliate links; the assessment is our own. It is informational only and not medical advice, and there is one claim on this site we would tell anyone to disregard entirely.

The Drug-Test Claim

Cheech & Chong's Ghost Hit vapes, at $34.95 to $35.95, are sold with this description on the company's own product listing: "Powered by InvisaWeed™ technology for authentic Super-Sativa effects using REAL cannabinoids that don't trigger drug tests." Read that as what it is: a psychoactive product marketed on the promise that it will not show up on a drug test. We would not act on that claim, and we would tell anyone considering it not to either. The reasoning is not complicated. The active compound, EPN—also marketed as Euphorinol—is a newly introduced, semi-synthetic cannabinoid. It is plausible that a standard urine immunoassay calibrated for THC metabolites does not cross-react with it. It is also entirely unverified by anyone independent, assay panels change, confirmatory testing by mass spectrometry looks for different things than a screening cup does, and no manufacturer can make promises about a test they do not control or a laboratory they have never seen. Meanwhile the consequences of being wrong sit entirely with you: a failed workplace test in a safety-sensitive job, a violated probation condition, a custody dispute, a lost commercial licence. There is a legal dimension worth knowing too. Several states—Florida, Kentucky and New Jersey among them—prohibit the sale of products designed to defraud or falsify a drug test, and Louisiana and Texas make it an offence to knowingly deliver or manufacture substances intended to alter drug-test results. Those statutes were generally written for adulterants and synthetic urine rather than for novel cannabinoids, and we are not asserting that this product breaches them. But the use case the marketing invites is precisely the one those laws exist to address.

Do not use any product to attempt to pass a workplace, court-ordered or athletic drug test. If you are subject to testing, the only reliable approach is not to use psychoactive products at all. A marketing claim about assay cross-reactivity is not a guarantee, and you are the one who bears the consequences if it is wrong.

EPN Is a Novel Cannabinoid With No Safety Record

Set the drug-test claim aside and there is still the question of what EPN actually is. It is a recently introduced semi-synthetic cannabinoid, produced through cannabinoid synthesis rather than extracted as a major constituent of the plant, and marketed on effects—clear-headed euphoria, no anxiety or sedation, no tolerance build-up—that come from the seller rather than from published research. We could find no meaningful independent safety literature on it. That is not a criticism of any particular supplier; it is a description of a compound that is too new for anyone to know much about, being sold in an inhaled format. The history of this category is the reason to be cautious. Novel and semi-synthetic cannabinoids have repeatedly arrived on the market ahead of any safety data, and the pattern of regulatory response has been consistent: delta-8 drew FDA warnings over adverse events and accidental paediatric exposures, and in July 2026 the DEA began temporary scheduling proceedings for concentrated 7-OH and three synthetic derivatives. Inhaled products carry their own uncertainty on top, with no long-term data on vaporising any of these compounds. There is also a regulatory point specific to EPN. The federal hemp definition taking effect on November 12, 2026 excludes cannabinoids that cannot be naturally produced by the cannabis plant, or that can be but were synthesised or manufactured outside it. A semi-synthetic novel cannabinoid sits squarely in that exclusion.

Treat any cannabinoid you have not heard of as an unknown rather than an upgrade. 'Non-detectable', 'no tolerance' and 'no anxiety' are marketing claims about a molecule nobody has studied in humans at scale. If you have a heart condition, a psychotic disorder or a family history of one, a lung condition, or you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under 21, do not use these products at all.

THCa Prerolls Are the Most Exposed Product in Hemp

The Blazers line—THCa prerolls at $12.99 and five-packs of mini prerolls at $19.99—is smokable hemp flower sold on its THCa content. It is inexpensive, and it is also the product category with the shortest remaining runway of anything in this market. THCa is the acidic precursor to THC. It is not intoxicating in the jar; it converts to delta-9 THC when heated, which is exactly what happens when you light it. The reason THCa flower has been sold legally is a technicality: current federal law measures delta-9 THC alone, and raw THCa flower can pass that test while becoming potent the moment it is smoked. Section 781 of the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2026 closes that gap. From November 12, 2026, hemp is defined by total THC, calculated as THCA multiplied by 0.877 plus delta-9 THC. THCa flower routinely tests in the 20 to 30 percent THCa range, so it will exceed the 0.3 percent total-THC threshold by an enormous margin. The separate 0.4 milligram per container cap on finished products makes the position clearer still. No delay had been enacted as of the Farm Bill the House passed on April 30, 2026. Several states have not waited. Reporting current to 2026 lists THCa as already banned in Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa and Rhode Island, and restricted to licensed dispensaries in Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Vermont.

Do not stock up on THCa flower and do not assume it is lawful where you are. Verify your own state before ordering—this is the single most restricted hemp category at state level, and the federal position changes in a matter of weeks. Smoking anything also carries the combustion risks that vaporising is meant to avoid: smoke from burning plant material contains tar and carcinogens regardless of what the plant is.

The Judge's Stash deserves particular care. A 750ml bottle marketed as an alcohol-free spirit—"All The Buzz. None Of The Hangover"—invites people to pour and sip it the way they would a drink. Ingested THC has a slow onset, typically 45 minutes to two hours, and free-pouring a psychoactive beverage is the fastest route to taking far more than intended. If you use it, measure a defined serving, wait two hours before considering more, never combine it with alcohol or sedatives, and do not drive. Treat it as an edible in a bottle, not as a spirit.

What the Famous Name Actually Tells You

Nothing about the product—and that is worth stating plainly, because celebrity association is doing the heaviest lifting in this brand's marketing. Cheech & Chong's Cannabis Co. is run by chief executive Jonathan Black, and its stated growth strategy is a reverse-licensing network in which independently owned dispensaries adopt the Cheech & Chong brand, store design and marketing while retaining ownership—reported at around 15 stores operating or in buildout across six or more states in early 2026, with an ambition of 100. That is a branding and retail business. It is a perfectly legitimate way to build a company, and it tells you precisely nothing about who grows the hemp, which laboratory tests it, or whether the milligrams on the packet are accurate. That matters because of what we could not find. Across the brands we have reviewed in this category, the ones worth buying from name their testing laboratory, publish certificates tied to specific batches, and let you match the report to the product in your hand—R&R CBD names three labs and puts QR codes on the packaging; Joy Organics names SC Labs and holds USDA organic certification on a defined collection. We could not establish equivalent batch-level, named-laboratory testing detail for this catalogue during this review. For THCa flower and a novel semi-synthetic cannabinoid in particular, that is the information that would matter most.

Celebrity brands in health and wellness should raise your evidentiary bar, not lower it. The name is the thing being sold. Ask the same questions you would of an unknown brand: which lab, which batch, what did it measure, and can I see the report for the packet I am buying?

Who Should Pick It—and Who Should Look Elsewhere

We are struggling to describe the buyer we would send here. If you are an adult over 21 in a state where these products are lawful, you already use cannabis, you want novelty or the collectible bottle, and you are buying a small amount for immediate use, it is your decision to make and the prices are low. For everyone else the answer is look elsewhere, and specifically: to a licensed dispensary if you are in a legal state and want an intoxicating product with regulated testing behind it; to Joy Organics or R&R if you want non-intoxicating CBD with verifiable potency; and to nothing at all if what attracted you was the suggestion that a product might let you pass a drug test.
