Body4Life offers a free metabolic test and risk-free consultation with a medical specialist as its entry point. Metabolic testing — typically indirect calorimetry measuring resting energy expenditure — has a legitimate role in weight management: knowing an individual's actual resting metabolic rate is more useful than an equation-based estimate when setting calorie targets. Offering it free removes a barrier, though it is also a well-established lead-generation tool, and the test's value depends entirely on what is done with the number afterwards.

The Medication Combination

Body4Life describes "powerful, personalized plans utilizing Phentermine, Semaglutide, and peptides with consistent monitoring and support." Each element carries different weight: Phentermine is an FDA-approved oral appetite suppressant, a Schedule IV controlled substance approved for short-term use — typically up to 12 weeks — in patients with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 with a comorbidity. It is a sympathomimetic amine with cardiovascular considerations including elevated blood pressure and heart rate, and it is contraindicated in patients with cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma or a history of substance misuse. It is a legitimate medication used appropriately, and a controlled substance requiring genuine monitoring. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are the well-evidenced agents in this comparison. Peptides are the weak link. As with several practices we have reviewed, peptide therapy is marketed across a wide range of benefits with a thin published evidence base. Combining a controlled stimulant appetite suppressant with a GLP-1 is done in clinical practice, but it requires careful monitoring — both suppress appetite through different mechanisms, and phentermine's cardiovascular profile matters more in patients also experiencing GLP-1 side effects such as dehydration from vomiting or diarrhoea. No published BMI thresholds or eligibility criteria — which matters more than usual here, because phentermine has its own approved criteria and its own contraindications. No dosing protocol, no monitoring schedule, and no stated duration limit for phentermine use. For a practice whose distinguishing feature is combining multiple weight-loss medications, the absence of published protocol detail is the central gap.
