NovoCare Pharmacy Tirzepatide Review

NovoCare is Novo Nordisk's answer to the same question LillyDirect answers for tirzepatide: why buy a compounded copy when the real product is this affordable? Our research (August 8, 2026) found published pricing across every form of Wegovy.

Wegovy Now Comes as a Pill

The product line has expanded meaningfully. NovoCare lists Wegovy (semaglutide) tablets 25 mg alongside injection at 1.7 mg, 2.4 mg and 7.2 mg, plus Saxenda (liraglutide) 3 mg. This matters for a theme running through our reviews. We have repeatedly flagged compounded "sublingual semaglutide drops" and "rapid-dissolve tablets" sold with no evidence that any usable dose reaches the bloodstream. An FDA-approved oral semaglutide indicated for weight management is a completely different proposition — an engineered formulation with its own trials and label. If you want to avoid needles, this is the version to want.

Self-Pay Pricing

• Wegovy pill: $149/month for the 1.5 mg and 4 mg doses. Novo states the 4 mg offer runs only until August 31, 2026, after which 4 mg becomes $199/month. One month is defined as one bottle of 30 tablets.
• Wegovy pen: $199/month for new self-paying patients
• Wegovy HD pen: $399/month for new self-paying patients

To get these prices you must fill through NovoCare Pharmacy — operating as CoAssist Pharmacy d/b/a NovoCare Pharmacy — or use the savings offer at another pharmacy.

With Commercial Insurance: As Little as $25

Novo states that patients with commercial (non-government) insurance may pay as little as $25/month, subject to a maximum saving of $100/month. A month is defined as one box of four Wegovy pens or one bottle of 30 tablets. Enrolment is through a savings form or by texting SAVE to 83757, then presenting the offer to your pharmacist.

The Government-Insurance Rule, Explained Properly

This is the part most commonly misunderstood, and Novo spells it out unusually clearly. The savings offer excludes anyone enrolled in Medicare, Medigap, VA, DoD, TRICARE, Medicaid or any other state or federal medical or pharmaceutical assistance programme — and having both commercial and government coverage counts as government insurance. But two clarifications follow that are genuinely useful:

• The Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, Affordable Care Act exchange plans, and state employee plans are NOT treated as government programmes for this offer. A lot of people wrongly assume they are excluded.
• Patients who are on government programmes can still pay the self-pay price — the $149 pill and $199 pen prices remain available to them.

Novo also states plainly that the offer operates outside insurance: money spent does not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum and cannot be submitted to your insurer for reimbursement.

Why This Changes the Compounded Calculation

At $149/month for FDA-approved oral Wegovy, the price argument for compounded semaglutide has largely collapsed. Trimi charges $99/month on an annual commitment; TelePeptide runs $89-$249. Those are in the same range — and they are compounded products from pharmacies that, in most cases across this comparison, are never named. For $149 you get the actual approved drug, the actual approved dose, and a manufacturer standing behind it.

Limitations Worth Knowing

The 4 mg promotional price expires August 31, 2026, rising to $199/month. Novo reserves the right to modify or cancel any of these programmes at any time. NovoCare is a pharmacy, not a prescriber. You need a valid prescription from your own provider. Only Novo Nordisk products. If tirzepatide is the right molecule for you, LillyDirect is the equivalent route. Doses matter. The $149 pill price covers the 1.5 mg and 4 mg strengths; the prescribing information references a 25 mg tablet. Confirm what your prescription is written for and what it will actually cost at that strength before assuming the headline price applies to you.
